This report of translation practice, mainly based on my translation practice ofthe eight and nine parts of E-Books in Libraries: A Practical Guide, is a summary ofthis translation practice. This report mainly has five parts. Firstly, the writer gives anwhole introduction about the translation task, including the backgroundand the academic value and practical significance of translation task. Secondly, Withthe guidance of Peter Newmark’s Communicative translation, the writer introducesthree translation principles of informative texts, including functionalism, accuracy andreadability.Thirdly, the writer introduces the specific translation process of thetranslation task with the help of SDL Trados. Then, in the case analysis part, fourthpart of this report also the core part of this report, the writer analyzes the translationstrategies of informative texts in details. Finally, in the summery and conclusion part,the writer generalizes the translation skills and strategies of informative text, discussessome key points we need pay attention to and elaborates the experiences gained andlessons learned in this translation practice.
