With the development of economic globalization and the reform and open-up policy, China has more and more contacts with the outside world. Nowadays, publicity news translation becomes more and more popular. The interaction and communication of science and technology promotes the rapid developments of economy of different countries. All the above depends on the exchanging and spreading of news. The translation of News English transmits the information in an effective way. Propaganda news’ translation is of vice importance to building our country’s image.Most of the translation theory in China is about Literature translation. However, it is of great difference between translating literature and current affairs. So the theory which is adapted to translating literature is different to translate current affairs. I study the official website, Press Office of People’s Government of HeBei Province, of the5past years in details. And then I write this report. It analyses the three characters of propaganda news. They are politiality, Logicality, and Factuality. And there are three basic qualities translators should possess. They are Political Ability, Professional Ability and Information and Language Ability. Eugene A. Nida’s theories of translation, functional equivalence and Katharina Reiss’skopos theory are used to help my translation. With the aid of their theory, I make research and exploration on the translation methods and skills about translating propaganda news. And I will improve my translation ability by tackling with the difficulties in translating propaganda news through these theories.
