The original text is a document on improving global road safety published on the Word Bank Website in 2013. The document co-authored by Bliss Tony and Raffo Veronica has about 13,000 words and the part excerpted has about 12,000 words. Making Argentina as an example, the document discusses the necessity of improving road safety performance and provides 12 road safety guidelines for countries to implement road safety projects. The translation report consists seven parts. Chapter 1 gives introduction to the background, objectives and significance of this translation project, and then followed by a brief introduction to the Skopostheorie; Chapter 2 provides information about the source text including its background, the authors and main idea; Chapter 3 specifies problems encountered in the process of translation as well as translation skills and methods used as solutions. Detailed examples are also given to illustrate how these problems are successfully tackled; Chapter 4 makes a conclusion of the translation report including experience learned and problems to be addressed.
