Translation Strategy For Architectural Engineering Texts

In the process of construction,use and maintenance of constructional properties,the incomplete safety management of construction engineering or the lack of safety management standards for construction engineering is the main cause of property casualties,which seriously affects the sustainable development of enterprises.The occurrence of safety accidents not only brings huge economic losses to enterprises,but also affects their reputation.Therefore,it is of great significance to strengthen the safety management of construction engineering in enterprises.At the same time,the translation of construction engineering guideline texts is also of great significance.Group Safety Standard-Height Safety Design Guideline is a construction engineering guideline which is difficult to translate for its frequent use of passive sentences and long sentences.The translator should find proper strategies to solve the problems in the process of translation.Skopostheorie holds that translation is a purposeful behavior and the translation process must follow certain principles so that the purpose of translation can be realized.The purpose of translation is also different due to the varieties of text types and audience.The translator should choose appropriate translation strategies according to the purpose of translation.This thesis shows how construction engineering guideline texts translation is done under the guidance of Skopostheorie.It first presents the basic concepts of Skopostheorie,and then analyses the characteristics of construction engineering guideline texts.Finally,it illustrates with examples how the translator guides the translation by applying the three principles of Skopostheorie.Among them,the author specifies the translation strategies of specialized terms and common vocabulary at lexical level,analyses the translation strategies of passive sentences and long sentences at the syntactic level,and discusses the translation strategies of textual coherence at the textual level.For different translation problems,the translator should choose the principle of adaptation and apply it,taking into account the other two principle at the same time.
