In Translation as Adaptation and Selection Theory, translation quality is put high on its agenda. And its translation principles are "multi-dimension adaptation and adaptive selection", that is to say interpreters are required to adapt to the translational environment by taking diverse dimensions into account. In business English interpreting, the interpreter is asked to adopt interpreting variations purposely so as to meet the requirements of audiences. The theory provides an effective and forceful theoretical guidance for interpreting variation in business interpreting.In the light of the Translation as Adaptation and Selection Theory, the author attempts to probe into business English interpreting variations. First, the author starts up with a brief introduction of the theory and its application in interpreting. After that, there is the possibility of applying the theory into business interpreting. In the following part, the author elaborates on Three-dimension Translation Approach namely,language, culture and communication and its application into business English interpreting. In interpreting practices, the author holds the view that interpreters are required to take factors on diverse dimensions into account and make transformations on different dimensions as many as possible to enhance the degree of holistic adaptation and selection and get better renditions. |
