This paper analyses “Hanyu jiaocheng” and “Il cinese per gli italiani”, two teaching materials now used in Italy to teach Chinese in some universities, as Macerata University and Rome University.The paper consists in four chapters and conclusions.First chapter is the introduction to the paper, including the explanation of purposes and main significances of the thesis, the actual status and conditions of this kind of studies both in Italy and in China about the two materials we take as studying objects.Second and third chapters consist in a contrastive analysis of Hanyu jiaocheng” and “Il cinese per gli italiani”: the second chapter contains evaluations of the pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, third chapter contains the examination of texts, exercises parts and some considerations on the layout.In fourth chapter we reveal the results of the interview conducted among two groups of students who already have experience in using this two teaching materials. They are students of Macerata University(using “Hanyu jiaocheng”) and of Rome University(using “Il cinese per gli italiani”). Then, we also offer some suggestions, for the purpose of improving these two textbooks and contributing to help Chinese teacher and students in Italy choosing the best material and help Italian students learning Chinese grammar and language. In particular, we will try to draw teacher’s attention on some shortcomings found during the previous comparison, so that every teacher can be aware of them and fix them during the lessons.The last chapter is conclusion, in which we reveal the results of the whole analysis, adding some personal considerations.
