Research Of The Zhao Youping’s Oil Painting Flowers

ZhaoYouping who became a celebrity in 1960s is the representative of the first generation of New Chinese women painters. Zhao Youping’s paintings have many different subject matters, and her Flower-oil-paintings in her career never been stopped. I will research her flower paintings in this article and analyze her representative works from two aspects. First, research the taste of flower’s profiling through composition, brushwork and color. Second, research the aesthetic pursuit of her flower paintings by educational background, female consciousness, creative concept of the truth, the good and the beautiful, the combines of the western painting rule and the concept of oriental image and so on. I will also discuss the function of Zhao Youping’s flower paintings in her art creative course and aesthetic meanings, based on the research of her flower paintings. It can comprehensively reflect Zhao Youping’s spirit of the art world by researching her different periods of works systematic and in-depth. Through researching her career, it can reflect the artist’s contribution to Chinese nationalization oil paintings and the fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics. It also provides reference for younger women artists in future. The discourse right of female paintings is actively been building by the research. It not only enrich the theoretical study on female paintings in China but also make Chinese women paintings go more steadily.
