Currently, most of the student interpreters cannot achieve the high accuracy in interpreting. This phenomenon mainly attributes to lack of clear accuracy assessment standards in the interpreting. Because of unclear accuracy assessment standards in interpreting, some universities only focus on whether the information units are accurately interpreted in the interpreting, but ignore whether the speaker’s communicative intention is faithfully expressed in the interpreting. Therefore, the author hopes that through the interpreting experiment held in 20 weeks, the assessment standards in accuracy of English-Chinese consecutive interpreting can be established and scientific teaching methods in various stages can be found. Therefore, all these can thus promote efficient study in English-Chinese consecutive interpreting, and enhance accuracy of English-Chinese consecutive interpreting among the student interpreters.The language accuracy is an important parameter to assess interpreting quality. Based on fully reviewing the previous achievements in the aspect of interpreting assessment, the author firstly confirms the accuracy assessment standards in interpreting. Secondly, the author adopts both quantitative and qualitative methods to carry out this experiment. And this experiment is divided into four training stages, namely, basic lexical usage, oral output in delivery, meaning in delivery, and structuring understanding. Through the experiment, the author aims to explore the training methods to further improve the accuracy of English-Chinese consecutive interpreting among the student interpreters. The results show that through the four training stages, student interpreters can skillfully master note-taking method, associate method, and amplification method and so on to deal with the problems occurred in the English-Chinese consecutive interpreting. In a result, the student interpreters have improved a lot in the accuracy of English-Chinese consecutive interpreting, which proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the teaching methods used in the experiments. Finally, the author puts forward the limitations and suggestions in the experiment for the future research.
