This report is written based on a simulated C-E consecutive interpretation of Sha Zukang’s speech of “Chinese Green Economic Development and Global Cooperation” when he was interviewed by China Talk. This interview has “the fifth Global Green Economic Wealth Forum” as its background which was themed as ‘Green Growth & Industry Transformation and Global Cooperation’. The interviewee, Mr. Sha Zukang, was the former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, who is well-known for his sharp speech style in the field of foreign affairs.In this report, the author first describes the interpretation task and how she prepares for the task. Then she analyzes the major problems which she encounters during the interpretation. Based on the above analysis, the author puts forward some tentative solutions to the aforementioned problems. The author hopes that her experience and conclusions which she draws from her problem-solving will provide some reference for the readers and other interpretation learners.The report is composed of four chapters besides introduction and conclusion. In the section of introduction, the author talks about the economic situation and gives the introduction of the China Talk. The first chapter elaborates on the background information and the requirements of the interpretation task. Chapter two describes the preparation of the task. The third chapter describes the problems that have been encountered during the interpretation process respectively. Chapter four talks about the solutions to the problems that have been pointed out. In the ending section, the author makes a further conclusion and some reflections on the simulation task.
