Achievement motivation is the individuals’ attention to success.It mainly includes the purposiveness, insistence and initiative of behavior. It’s level determines the student’ssuccess or failure of study. Since middle school is the important part of teenagers’ lea-rning stages, middle school students’ learning and growing up gets more attention from the society. As the country has established the core concept of education-orientation, t-he academia paid more attention to knowing of the non-intelligence factor, emphasizing the study of motivation psychology. Then the achievement motivation gets more attent-ion by the researchers gradually.By using group counseling about achievement moti-vation of junior middle school students,this experiment study can enrich the rese-arch of achievement motivation.What is more,it can help teachers to know about students’ mentation.This study adopt the following steps. Firstly, On the basis of summarizing dom-estic and overseas achievement motivation’s intervention means, using the Achievemen-t Motivation Scale made by Gjesme T and Nygard R, and translated by Ye Renmin, this study had a status survey of junior high school students among 5 middle schools in Ch-ongqing. Secondly, this study analyzes the relation among time management, self-efficacy and achievement motivation. Finally, according to the analysis of their achie-vement motivation and the influence factors, this study established a group counseling scheme of improving junior high school students’ achievement motivation, and uses it on a class of junior 2 students, and proved its effectiveness.Here are the conclusions:(1)The junior high school students’ achievement motivation is above the average.(2)The male’s scores of the achievement motivation are significantly higher than the fe-male’s, especially in the factor of achievement striving.(3)The scores of students in the first grade are significantly higher than that of second a-nd third grade. The scores of only child are significantly higher than that of the non-on-ly child.(4)There is no significant difference in birth place and parents’ degree of education fact-ors.(5)The junior high school students’ level of time management and general self-efficacy can predict their achievement motivation.(6)Group counseling is an efficient way of improving junior high school students’ achievement motivation, and its effect last long.
