With the deepening of globalization, international exchanges have increased rapidly, so has the demand for translation and interpretation talents. In such a background, namely the marketization of interpretation, simultaneous interpretation(SI for short) is highly applied for its effectiveness, fluency and without any interruption to the seminars and international conferences. This thesis is a report based on the author’s C-E simultaneous interpretation at the Celebration Ceremony of the 50 th Anniversary of the School of Foreign Studies, Guangxi University for Nationalities. This simultaneous interpretation was completed with part of the drafts at hand. However, during the process of the ceremony the speakers didn’t follow the draft all the time, there were some skips, changes and even impromptus.The author shows some cases and analyzes her own tapescripts of the simultaneous interpretation with the theory of communication strategies. The thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter One is the brief introduction of the SI task the author did. Chapter Two mainly describes the preparation of the task including the basic theoretical study of communication strategies and the detailed preliminary process of this task. Chapter Three applies communication strategies to analyze some cases. The last chapter is the conclusion. By analyzing some typical cases, the author summarizes the application of communication strategies in the simultaneous interpretation, focusing on the analysis of inference strategy, liberal translation strategy, repair strategy and substitution strategy. From the conclusion the author should know how to improve her interpretation performance.
