Nowadays, the construction of the city brand is no longer fresh, each city’s emphasis on its image is also evident. Since the 1990 s CI theory is introduced into the field of city image, city image building concentrated in the city individuality and the expressions of the spiritual connotation, extract the city’s unique culture, as a major visual symbols in the form of city symbol, have also made the corresponding effect on the promotion. With the development of technology and media, information dissemination channels expanding, the traditional pattern of "one to many" is no longer applicable, on the promotion of more pay attention to communicate directly with the target audience, the promotion of multiple positioning; On the visual representation, city image cannot simply stay on the design of the sign of city, the diversity of visual symbols in the process of city brand image is very important.The purpose of this article aims to research on the diversity of urban visual symbols, make people visual symbol for the city to form a more comprehensive, more systematic understanding, for shaping, dissemination of urban brand image to provide more creative.
