| Based on many others’academic achievements, the thesis has discussed the differences of English photo news (Source Text) and Chinese photo news (Target Text) and the strategies of E-C photo news trans-editing under the guidance of Skopostheorie. Moreover, the thesis has provided some efficient and correct strategies and skills to translators studying or analyzing the photo news trans-editing at huanqiu.com.School of functionalist regards translation as a purposeful activity, which is on the basis of the function of target texts, free from the rules of source texts. As people know, Skopostheorie is famous for its complete development and well-known representatives: Katharina Reiss:Text Classifications, Hans J. Vermeer and Justa Holz-Manttari: Skopostheorie, and Christiane Nord:Function plus Loyalty. Hence, Guided by Skopostheorie, the thesis summarizes many practical strategies and skills of E-C photo news trans-editing. Compared with other studies on Skopostheorie, the thesis has also discussed the dissemination and development of Skopostheorie in China.Through combining translation theory of Skopostheorie with E-C photo news trans-editing, the thesis has the following three major findings:in the first place, on the basis of Reiss’s text classifications, text-type convention should be adopted in the process of E-C photo news trans-editing; in the second place, on the basis of Vermeer’s Skopostheorie, different strategies should be used to different parts of photo news, such as word restriction to E-C photo news headlines, addition and omission to E-C photo news headlines, and core idea summary to E-C photo news leads; Moreover, information screening and culture-bound terms should be noticed as well; in the third place, on the basis of Nord’s function plus loyalty, translators should remember the three meanings of loyalty on E-C photo news trans-editing. |
