Idioms as an important form of fixed phrase, has some language characteristics like that concise, accurate, vivid and interesting. It plays an important role in both modern Chinese vocabulary system and Chinese courses for foreigners. Idioms, originated from the language of civilization of the Chinese nation, is an significant means of spreading Chinese culture, which is closely related with the social system, customs and habits, ways of production and ways of life of the Chinese nation. In addition, idioms are momentous way to improve the Chinese level of overseas students. It is difficult for foreign learners to grasp the changes of Semantic and structural without constancy in learning idioms. Firmly grasping the idioms is helpful for overseas students to improve their Chinese language ability and communication skills. Therefore, idioms have an extremely important status in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In recent years, The teaching of idioms in teaching Chinese as a foreign language studies have advanced, but the dissertation on the basis of empirical research still leave much to be desired. As the research object in this paper, Chinese idioms would be proposed for further study on the basis of predecessors’research, and advanced foreign students in Anhui university as a case study, their level of mastering idioms is not high. Therefore, this study, by the means of survey that the overseas students participated in, analyzes their level of understanding and aims at exploring in the cause of the errors which the advanced foreign students make in Chinese idioms learning. Finally elaborating the practical significance of research and putting forward suggestions for teaching foreign learners of Chinese idioms.This article is divided into five chapters. The Chapter 1 is an introduction discussing the significance of the task of this thesis, the conditions of the research, contents and means of the research as well as the scope of the research. The Chapter 2 is the relevant research review, respectively introducing the Chinese idioms ontology research and Chinese idioms teaching research. The Chapter 3 is HSK dynamic composition corpus and errors by statistical analysis, mainly including the following content. The distribution of the idioms in HSK simulation questions, and problem sets. The frequency of the use of idioms in HSK dynamic composition corpus. Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the core part of this article. The Chapter 4 using the method of combining quantitative and qualitative analysis, by way of questionnaire, and advanced students in Anhui university to do research, investigation, advanced students in the acquisition of idioms in Chinese, and analyses the reason of the foreign student Chinese idioms acquisition errors. The Chapter5 is the Suggestions to improve the level of foreign students Chinese idioms acquisition. This dissertation come up with several suggestion from the test, teaching material and teaching method three aspects on the basis of previous studies in combination with the results of the questionnaire.
