With the continuous development of the packaging industry,the integration of various types of culture makes designers pay more attention to tourist souvenirs which have traditional cultural background. Tourist souvenirs are not only visible tourism culture which bear regional characteristics, but also the typical reflection of local culture. The research takes the design of Shaolin Zen tourism products packaging based on regional culture as the object to study the status and development level of domestic and foreign tourism souvenir markets. The research re-designs,analyzes and builds brands for Shaolin Temple tourist souvenirs to break the non-distinctive status of tourism souvenirs packaging,in view of the current tourist souvenirs packaging problems. Through the study on religious tourism souvenirs packaging designs, structure,the research strives to design Shaolin Zen tourism product packages with regional characteristics.In the creation of the study,serialized design is used as the main research method,and the people-oriented,green and low-carbon design conception is taken into account. Because of the very traditional Shaolin Culture characteristics,the design begins with the Zen food culture, which includes packaging design of Zen food,Zen tea,Zen fruit and other distinctive tourist souvenirs in order to promote Shaolin Culture. The new packaging design not only meets the continuation and development of Shaolin Culture,but also enhances brand recognition through the new propaganda carrier. The new packaging design not only meets the need of believers for enjoying and studying Buddhism,but also meets the growing demand of tourists for aesthetics and function Shaolin Culture and achieves the goal of deep promotion for local culture and Shaolin Culture.
