As a common grammar point in both Chinese and Thai language,adjective reduplication is widely applied to oral dialogue for its characteristic of form diversity, rich functions and complex usage. However, in the teaching process of Chinese adjective reduplication in Thailand, we discover its acquisition and employment is not ideal for Chinese learners for the existence of pragmatic errors. Concerning the fact that adjective reduplication accounts for a large proportion in oral communication, therefore, Chinese adjective reduplication becomes an indispensable part of Chinese learners and one difficulty for the Chinese teaching in Thailand as well. Consequently, the author conducts the relative research.The thesis consists of six parts. The introduction part presents the rationale, research background of adjective reduplication, research achievements of oral Chinese teaching and the teaching and learning situation of Chinese adjective reduplication.The first chapter summarizes differences and similarities between Chinese adjective reduplication and Thai’s adjective reduplication based on previous studies of comparison research on adjective reduplication in two languages. The second chapter conducts the census of HSK dynamic composition corpus, Interlanguage corpus in Ji’Nan University and makes a questionnaire, based on which, the analysis of errors corpus is done. The third chapter attempts to explore the reasons of errors of Chinese adjective reduplication for the Thai students from two dimensions of overt errors and convert errors.In the fourth chapter, the author conducts practical analysis on the concrete performance of applying Chinese adjective reduplication in the oral Chinese teaching. Hence, the fifth chapter attempts to embed Chinese adjective reduplication in all chains of oral Chinese teaching targetedly,according to which, teaching procedures are designed so as to solve errors of Chinese adjective reduplication in oral Chinese process for the Thai students to a certain degree.
