Survey was done by the questionnaire sent out to 100 Thai students, 50 were the students who studied in China while the rest 50 were the students who studied in Thailand. The questionnaire aimed to study and analyze the use of Chinese adjective reduplication of both groups thoroughly. For the scope of the study, the researcher based the study on Chinese Adjective Dictionary as the questionnaire source and also based on the five popular adjective reduplication styles which were AA, AABB, ABAB, ABB and A ? AB. Moreover, Error Analysis and Contrastive Analysis were the second languages study theories applied to this research to analyze the styles and cause of the error more effectively. This research focused on the use of adjective reduplication styles, rules, and the grammar when applying the adjective in sentence structure. The study revealed that the first concern of both Thai students in China and in Thailand was the error when applying the adjective reduplication to the sentence structure. The other concerns were the rules, grammar, and the duplication styles. As a result, the researcher made the analysis upon the error and the cause of the error from "the teaching "and" the studying". Finally, the researcher proposed the guideline to correct the error as well as the complete and practical teaching description of the adjective reduplication for Thai students at all levels; beginner, intermediate and advanced. Therefore, this research will be particularly useful to all Chinese language teaching and studying. |
