Research Of Correlation About Parental Raising Patterns And Mental Health And Personality Of Rural Junior High School Students

Objective: To analyse rural junior high school students’ parental raising patterns and the present situation of mental health, personality, discussing parental raising patterns and the correlation of the countryside middle school students’ mental health and personality. Methods: Using cluster sampling method to select 2 towns middle school students and 479 second grade students of middle school in Guizhou for general situation questionnaire. Including gender, age, nationality, parents occupation, cultural level, parental rearing patterns scale, self-evaluation scale of symptoms and Eysenck personality questionnaire(Youth version).And in general case, the three standardized questionnaire with the national norm, the comparison between the different sex, different nationalities, and parental raising patterns on the correlation between the self-assessment lists of symptom(Self-reporting Inventory)SCL-9、EPQ(Eysenck Personality Questionnaire)scores were analyzed. Results:(1)The survey of 479 second grade students ’ psychological problem detection rate was 23.38%, the boy was 22.22%, the girl was 46.32%, the girls SCL- 90 scores were higher than boys, poor mental health than boys.(2)After analysed and compared with their respective national norm results show that ①For mother’s factors, which excessive interference and excessive protection, the two factors were no significant differences by statistical analysis(P > 0.05).For father’s factors, which have emotional warmth, punish severely, excessive interference and preference, refused to deny and excessive protection of six factors and compared four factors of mother’s factors,which have emotional warmth, refused to deny, punish severely and preference have significant difference(P < 0.01).Among of this the father’s factors of emotional warmth, excessive interference and preference of emotional warmth, excessive protection and the mother’s factors of preference were significantly lower than the national norm, and parents’ factors of punish severely and refused to deny were significantly higher than the national norm.②SCL- 90 have statistically significant(P < 0.01) for which divide each factors were significantly higher than the national norm.③For compared with the boys and girls’ has no obvious difference with EPQ psychoticism dimension and the norm(P > 0.05), and to the inside and outside, neuroticism and cover degree three dimensions with significant differences between the national norm(P < 0.01).(3)The comparison between the different gender.①Father’s factors have three obvious differences in parental raising patterns of punishing severely, excessive interference, and refused to deny ②All factors in SCL- 90 between boys and girls are there differences(P < 0.05), poor mental health status of the girls than boys between boys and girls(P < 0.01), the rest of the various factors had no difference(P > 0.05).③EPQ’s boys and girls have three dimensions difference between phychoticism, inside and outside of quality and neurotic(P < 0.05).(4)Bouyei people compared with Han people: Bouyei people compared with Han Chinese have no obvious difference between parental raising patterns(P > 0.05), and excessive protection of father’s factor and the mother’s factor of emotional warmth understanding, which lead to the Bouyei students is higher than the Han students. Compared every factors of SCL- 90 points, only two factors of somatization and depression have difference(P < 0.05). For this the rest of the each factor between the two nations have no difference(P > 0.05).Reminding this the Han students have poor mental health than the Bouyei students.In EPQ in the comparison of four dimensions, the phychoticism and both inside and outside the spirit of quality have differences comparing to two dimensions(P < 0.05), while neuroticism and cover degree of two dimensions is no difference(P > 0.05), and the Han students are introverted personality type.(5)Partial factors of correlation analysis,①There is a clear correlation between parental raising patterns and mental health, namely parents factor in preference to deny, and excessive protection of father’s factor score was positively correlated with all factors of SCL- 90, parents’ factor of emotional warmth have negatively correlated with all factors of SCL- 90. The two factors of father’s ②including emotional warmth, excessive protection and four dimensions of EPQ were negatively correlated, mother’s three factors of emotion understanding, punish severely and preference are positively correlated with four dimensions.Conclusion: Parental raising patterns have closely related with the rural junior high school students mental health and personality, so they should advocate the emotional warmth understanding type of parenting way.
