Teaching basic skills are very necessary qualifications, with which a teacher can commit his education responsibilities and complete the teaching mission. If a teacher wants to grow into a good teacher, she or he must begin to cultivate the basic teaching ability from the pre-service stage.However, there exit many defects in the cultivation system of qualified teachers in the higher normal colleges and universities, which have always been boasted as "the cradle of qualified teachers"; In the short run, a lot of pre-service teachers cannot apply what they have learned to practical teaching activities in society. Facing the complex and changing class situations, they are totally at a loss. As a result, It may take three to five years for most of the newly-hired teachers to adapt themselves to the actual teaching situations. Then they are gradually competent for satisfying teaching activities. At the same time, a new round of basic education curriculum reform requires the teachers to shift their roles from "craftsman teacher" to "expert teacher". This requirement is an unprecedented challenge for pre-service teachers. In order to improve the resilience of pre-service teachers, and grow up to be good teacher as soon as possible, also with the aim to meet the needs of the basic education course reform, I carried out a case study of senior students of Chinese normal major in N normal university.Starting from the results of the study, the normal university can try to improve pre-service teachers’ basic teaching skills through perfecting pre-service teachers’ curriculum, improving teaching guidance, strengthen the teaching cooperation, promoting the ability of self-examination and so on.This paper revolves mainly the following parts:Firstly, consult and put away the relevant paper of pre-service teachers’ basic teaching skills. Following are aspects of judge pre-service teachers’ basic teaching skills: ability of teaching cognitive, ability of teaching design, ability of teaching implementing, ability of control teaching. Necessity of cultivating pre-service teachers’ basic teaching ability can be put forward according to the above four aspects.Secondly, several methods can be used, such as interview, observation and collection, to know more about the pre-service teachers, to communicate with them. And choose a typical teacher as the object, knowing about the process of his teacher-training in micro teaching, summer training and the basic teaching skills during his education.Then, put forward the strategies that N normal university can use to train the pre-service Chinese teachers’ basic teaching skills. These mainly include two points:the summer training before educational practice; listening to the experts’ lectures and watching experienced teachers’ demonstration classes. Finding out that factors affect the growth of pre-service teachers’ basic teaching ability are the education curriculum system, teaching cooperation and self-examination.Finally, put forward the planning idea of improving pre-service teachers’ basic teaching ability through perfecting curriculum system, strengthen the teaching cooperation, promoting the ability of self-examination.
