Digitized Inheritance Of Intangible Cultural Heritages Of Ethnic Minorities Of China Under New Media Context

As the historical legacy of human civilization, intangible cultural heritagesare of great cultural value, social value, scientific value, tourism value, etc.,among which stand out starkly the unique and various intangible culturalheritages of ethnic minorities of China. Due to the change of production andlife style from rapid modernization, however, such heritages have graduallybeen losing their primal environment, demonstrating a rapid degeneration oreven extinction. Under such a dilemma, protecting and inheriting them is ofgreat urgency. The effective way thereof, as an inexorable trend in a newmedia time featuring the rapid development of science and technology, is thedigitization of such heritages which can be long-term effective, storable,replicable, handy, fit for mass communication, etc.Considering the common issues in the current inheritance of intangiblecultural heritages, the peculiarity of intangible cultural heritages of ethnicminorities, and the new media technologies which have been or can be used inprotecting and inheriting intangible cultural heritages, this paper analyzed theadvantages and disadvantages of them, respectively, in a bid to figure out amore effective digitization method. Taking subjects like mass-communication,folklore and artistic design theories as the theoretical basis, and questionnaireinquiry, reference of document literature, summary of experience at home andabroad, etc. as the research method, this paper made some design practicesto achieve the data collection, storage, arrangement, restoration, exhibitionand communication of the digitized pieces of intangible cultural heritages ofethnic minorities, thereby concluding a systematic and perfect digitizationmethod.By studying the digitization of intangible cultural heritages of ethnicminorities, the author hopes to find a more systematic and comprehensivedigitization system, solving the problems in the current inheritance of intangiblecultural heritages, offering new research results for the study of inheritingintangible cultural heritages of ethnic minorities of China, and offering newpresenting modes and communication means for the digitization of intangiblecultural heritages of ethnic minorities, thus drawing public attention andinterest to the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritages ofethnic minorities.
