In recent years, colleges pay more and more attention on the important role which musicaesthetics education plays on students’ ideological and political education. In ideological andpolitical education, fostering students with higher music aesthetic ability plays a crucial rolein strengthening college students’ ideological and political education. Therefore, study on thefostering of non-music major college students’ music aesthetics ability has significanttheoretical meaning and practical values. More and more education workers realize that musicaesthetics education has important meaning on contemporary college student’s growth. Withregard to this topic, education workers propose their own opinions. Nevertheless, up to now,we can easily find out that only few papers combine contemporary college students’characteristics analysis with students’ music fostering and moral education as an independenttask to be researched and illustrated. Based upon this, this thesis studies the fostering ofnon-music major college students’ music aesthetics ability.With the gradual deepening of education reform, education for all-round developmentgains its momentum,“National arts education development planning (2001-2010)” and otherdocuments came out, these documents strongly illustrated upon all-round developmenteducation’s significant meaning on students’ development, and affirmed music educationworkers’ position. In addition, colleges begin to pay more and more attention on musiceducation’s position, improving students’ music quality and strengthening moral educationthrough establishing music club, setting up music optional class, organizing and participatingin music competition and developing music activities. Based upon referring to large quantityof materials and my own six-year college music teaching and ideological and politicalworking experience, this thesis surveys on non-music major students’ music aesthetic abilityand college music education’s current state in nine colleges from Hebei, includingShijiazhuang (Hebei Normal University, Hebei University of Science and Technology,Vocational Technology College), Baoding (Agricultural University of Hebei,North China Electric Power University), Qinhuangdao (Yanshan University, HebeiTechnological Normal University), Langfang (North China Institute of Science and Technology, Yanjing Institute of Science and Technology), questionnaires sending out were240, effective questionnaires taking back were216. Through this real data, this thesis analyzescollege music education’s status and existing issues, combines with the important meaning ofimproving college music aesthetic ability, thus proposing effective solutions and efficientlyimproving non-music major students’ music aesthetic ability.Through questionnaire analysis and research, non-music major college students’ musicaesthetics exists the following features:1) each college’s emphasis on the fostering ofnon-music major students’ aesthetic ability is different;2) internet has become the importantfactor affecting contemporary college student’s music aesthetics;3) pop music is the mostpopular music genre among college students, the second popular genre is classic music, whileChinese traditional music has become the most unpopular music genre among collegestudents;4) contemporary college students music quality is universally weak. This thesis,based upon questionnaire’s survey analysis upon contemporary non-music major collegestudents music aesthetic ability, combines with contemporary college students’ characteristic,illustrates the important meaning of the improvement of music aesthetic ability on improvingcontemporary college students’ cultural quality, fostering students’ patriotism spirit andnational consciousness, fostering college students’ teamwork consciousness and cooperativespirit, improving college students’ independent consciousness and students’ psychologicalhealth education. In addition, this thesis proposes five ways to strengthen non-music majorcollege students’ aesthetics ability, including perfecting music education system, improvingmusic teachers’ professional quality, optimizing teaching media, innovating teaching method,emphasizing local arts education, creating good music culture atmosphere, actively organizingstudents to participate in music practice.This thesis divides into five parts: introduction; music aesthetics and college educationstatus of non-music major college students (questionnaire preparation work, implementationprocess and conclusion analysis of non-music major college students’ music aesthetics abilityin nine Hebei colleges); analysis on the natural attribute of music aesthetics education; theways of strengthening non-music major college students’ aesthetic ability; conclusionThesis features: through survey study, this thesis obtains real data of non-music major college students’ music aesthetic ability status, and puts the data under discipline backgroundof music education and ideological and political education to analyze, through several realcases, deeply analyzes contemporary college students’ characteristics, discusses musicaesthetics ability’s important role upon moral education. In addition, this thesis illustrates a lotof author’s real cases in practical working, repeatedly demonstrating music aesthetics ability’ssignificance, proposing college students’ music aesthetics education, helping students to setup righteous life view, world view and values, strengthening moral education, thus helpingstudents develop all-roundly.
