The intermediate stage of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is the expanded anddevelopmental stage to the foundation stage. The intermediate stage has its specialties includingthe wide span, abundant arrangement of ideas, the encyclopedic knowledge, intensive difficulties. That’s why this period of time is the key period transitions from the intermediate stage toadvanced stage, mean while it is the difficult period for the foreign students to study Chinese. There is a course named the comprehensive Chinese(also called intensive reading class) is themost important one of this stage. The comprehensive Chinese is a integrated training coursewhich is focus on the basic linguistical knowledge. It is not only the foundation and thebackbone of the teaching Chinese as a foreign language, but also the bond and the core. However, the researches of the comprehensive Chinese are mainly on the foundation stage and sufficient.By comparison those on the intermediate stage is not enough.Comparing with the content of courses, the one of the intermediate stage is further awayfrom the real life than the one of the foundation stage. The knowledge learned in the foundationstage is on the state of inventory and indirect, thus students can not handle very skillfully. Duringthe process of teaching practice, we can not change the teaching method or design the teachingactivities blindly in order to make teaching more effective. We should be base on analyses theteaching object and content and proceed from the reality to design the scientific and effectiveteaching. This thesis set I learned liberality in China as an example and combined the situation ofclass D over-seas students in Henan University to design a scientific and effective teaching. Inorder to make the design integrated, methodical and scientific, before it, arrangement andanalysis about following six sections should be done considering both theory and practice. Theyare the teaching principles, teaching material, the situation of students, teaching goal, teachingcontent and teaching process. The following are four sections of this thesis.Section one is introduction. This section is mainly about the nature and task of theintermediate stage and intermediate comprehensive Chinese in teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage.Except that, this section explains the current situation of researches on the instructionaldesign of intermediate comprehensive Chinese. Though the above statement explain the differences of this thesis. The second section is the train of thought arrangement of the instruction design. Thissection analyse and deconstruct in details through the following six aspects: the teachingprinciples, teaching material, the situation of students, teaching goal, teaching content andteaching process. This section is mainly focus on getting ideas into shape in order to lay a solidfoundation for the third one.The third section is the main body of the thesis. This part tried to make the teaching processdistinct and clear, otherwise consists with the facts in the largest degree. During the process ofthe design, the details are emphasized. Except that, the design pay attention to arouse theenthusiasm and initiative of the students. During the teaching, there are two aspects should befocused, one is the integrate of teach and practise, the other is less teaching and more practice. The forth section is the conclusion. This part summarizes the beneficial attempt and pointsout the shortage of this thesis. The author hope this thesis could be better on the base of research, discussion and practice.
