Comparative Analysis On Explanations Of Functional Words In Ancient And Morden Chinese Dictionaries

Through the analysis and study of the ancient and modern explanation offunctional words system in this paper, we summarized the functional items of theexplanation of functional words. Starting from the function entry point of view, wecompared the different explanation of functional words for the same functional items.The modern lexicography provides certain reference function on the choice of words ininterpretation and, to a certain extent, promotes the construction of element syntax.In ancient China, the compilation of dictionaries has a long history, the results ofprevious studies are very rich. As a starting point, the first chapter is based on from theancien traditional philology of the functional words. And then we described the presentresearch on the definition of the functional words, in this chapter, we also discussed theshortcomings in the current situation, put forward the concept of functional word. Thefirst chapter is the introduction mainly from ancient exegesis, western logic andlexicography, modern lexicology and lexicography theory. The explanation of functionalwords related with various factions on the explanation of functional words. It will bemore conscious about the research of the functional words that we can make it morefit, more accurately in the service of the modernization of dictionaries compilation.The second chapter is the ancient functional word system. We use the explanationin GuXunHuiZuan as an example and summaries the functional items of the functionalwords for full description. The third chapter is the modern functional words system. Wealso desciped the functional items of each functional word. And we use Modern ChineseDictionary as an example to describe the entries. On the other hand, we want to givesuggestions and reference in the use of Modern Chinese Dictionary.The fourth chapter is based on the first two chapters, through each functional itemwe compared the functional words between the ancient and the modern interpretationsystem. It shows the evolution relationship between the ancient and the moderninterpretation system. According to the research, we put forward some enlightenmentand suggestions on modern dictionaries.The fifth chapter discusses the shortcomings of this study and the stuy space to continue. We can know that the future of the functional words is prospected.
