Jilin University International Summer Language Training Course is part of thesummer Chinese program established by Jilin University and Hebrew University ofJerusalem, targeting at helping overseas students get close contact with Chineseculture and stir up their interests in learning more about China. It is an honor for theauthor to serve as a classroom interpreter in Chinese calligraphy class of this course.Associating with previous study on interpretation principles and classroominterpretation, the author makes an attempt to analyze her performance in acomprehensive and subjective way as an effort to achieve benefits from this practice.This paper gives a brief introduction to this task, presents the interpretation process,analyzes problems from different perspectives and ends up with inspirations forimproving classroom interpreting. In Chapter one, the author introducespre-interpretation preparation from such angles as the background of Jilin UniversityInternational Summer Language Training Course, task descriptions, materialscollection, audience analysis and contingency plans. Chapter two presents theinterpretation process which is made up by the process of lecture part and exercisepart as well as unexpected conditions and on-site response. Chapter three is concernedabout post-interpretation summary, in which the author analyzes merits and problemsin the interpretation and comes up with several measures to improve classroominterpretation.
