In twentieth Century50years, at the beginning of the development of teachingChinese as a foreign language, listening teaching was not taken seriously. Mostscholars believed that listening class is a affiliated course, depends on oral languagecourse, so it can not be set as a separate course. Until the late70’s early80’s, the tideof reform and opening-up has also spread to teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage, listening class became an independent course, the studies onlistening teaching also gradually became more and more.Intermediate listening teaching forms a connecting link between the precedingand the following and it is in the special position in listening teaching. No matter inthe teaching task, teaching object or teaching methods, Intermediate listening teachingis different from primary and senior listening teaching, which should be paid attentionto and studied deeply by scholars. However, in fact, scholars’ studies on listeningteaching are mostly on teaching methods, teaching materials’ compilations andteaching skills. They tend to be the studies of primary listening teaching, which areless related with intermediate listening teaching. Research on intermediatelistening teaching restricting factors is much less. Besides, in the process of theteaching practice, the author found that the foreign students with intermediateChinese level are not interested in studying listening course and they dislike, evenpepel listening course, which led to the bad quality and inefficiency of classroomteaching. Based on the thinking of these issues, the author sent questionnaires to theforeign students with intermediate Chinese level and listening teachers of JilinUniversity. From these questionnaires, we can induce and analyze the restricting factors on intermediate listening teaching and put forward some correspondingteaching strategies, so as to provide reference for intermediate listening teaching ofChinese as a foreign language.This paper is divided into five chapters, the purpose and significance of thetopic, the ideas of this study and the sources of the corpus are mainly introduced inthe first chapter. The basic concept of intermediate listening teaching of Chinese as aforeign language and the specific characteristics of intermediate listening teaching,including the research findings of predecessors, are introduced in the secondchapter.The third chapter is the main part of the paper, in this part, we discuss theinvestigation methods, objects and contents, analyze the questionnaires and get results,mainly analyze the restricting factors of intermediate listening teaching in Chinese asa foreign language from two aspects of the students and teachers. In the fourth chapter,based on the analysis of the restricting factors, combined with theauthor’s interviews with the students and listening teachers and teaching experience,the corresponding teaching strategies are proposed for three aspects of students,teachers and teaching materials.The fifth chapter is the conclusion, the main contentand innovation of this paper is briefly summarized in this chapter.Through the real investigation and detailed analysis of restricting factors onintermediate listening teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,the author hopes toprovide effective teaching strategies,to make up for the blank of intermediate listeningteaching.In hopes of this paper can provide help for intermeidiate listening teachingof Chinese as a foreign language.
