Research On The Visual Symbols Of Decorative Patterns Of She Nationality In Southwest Zhejiang

The decorative motifs of Shes in southwestern Zhejiang are derived from theminority and are closely related to daily life decorative art forms of civil. It contains awealth of semantics like national history, culture, ideals and pursuit, with very richregional characteristics. But now shes decorative patterns are gradually fade away,especially as a part of discovering its essence of decorative arts culture and aestheticpsychology. For this case, we need to re-cognition Shes decorative patternsystematically, and ponder its historic state of existence.This paper based on studies of Shes decorative culture and fieldwork outcomesin southwestern Zhejiang, Fujian regions over the years.From the perspective ofsemiotics, learning patterns, combining with the theories of design, folklore,ethnology and anthropology，it studies out a systematic analysis on the history andcharacteristics of visual symbols in Shes decorative pattern, a depth analysis on theirvocabulary and semantic symbols, and a tentative classification and induction on theirsyntactic types and rules. Exist as a visual symbol art，Shes decorative patterns itselfcontains a profound symbolic meaning, which not only has a distinctive ethniccharacteristics, but also rich content.It demonstrated that, in all aspects of the impact, such as ethnic worship,inhabited by migration, agricultural economy, Han association and religional culture,a form of expression with rich national sentiment and unique national style which canrepresent She people’s psychological language. The current research on the decorativepatterns is sided, fragmented, and not systematic, and this study improves it.Meanwhile, this study provides theoretical evidence to protect, and excavatedecorative pattern of Shes. This study provides design resources to organize thesystem, inherit the pattern of Shes. The research on Shes visual symbol insouthwestern Zhejiang not only expands the application of semiotics in the visual arts,to construct a decorative pattern in southwestern Zhejiang Shes visual symbol systemarchitecture, but also makes an effective complement of the entire nation in Shescultural studies, and thus also plays an important role in the nationalization andregionalization of contemporary art design.
