Philippines, as a neighbor of China where there are lots of Chinese, Philippines hadstarted Chinese education since1899. The traditional language and culture education forChinese children in Philippines has experienced the development of twists and turns in thepast110years. However, with the flow of time and change of the situation, Chineseeducation for Philippine mainstream society has also become the focus of attention.Chinese education actually belongs to foreign language education in Philippinemainstream schools, which determines the difference of Chinese education betweenPhilippine mainstream schools and Chinese schools. Based on certain theoretical studies,targeting Chinese education in Ateneo De Naga University,this thesis suggestsoptimization approach and class division in accordance with students’Chinese level, whichgoes on by doing survey questionnaires to learn the school and student basicinformation,chinese learning situation,satisfaction and problems accoured inChinese-learning well. Meanwhile, this thesis analyzes problems about teachers, textbooksand curriculum that occured in Chinese learning process, which finally suggests thatmainstream schools should strengthen teacher training, choose suitable textbooks andoptimize the curriculum baesd on the common problems of Chinese learning inmainstream schools.
