With the rapid development of our economy and frequent economic exchanges athome and abroad, many famous economic theories have been developed, which have madegreat contributions to the development of national economy. These theories also showcompanies their ways ahead and provide constructive advice for the making of ournational economic policy. So the translation of economic literature becomes more andmore important. However, the sentences of the economic literature tend to be complicatedand rich in meaning. The quality of its translation will have a great influence on thestudies of domestic scholars and the learning of students.The book, Multinational Enterprise and the Global Economy, is one of theeconomic classics and written by John H. Dunning, a famous British economist onInternational Investment study. The theory of the Eclectic Paradigm he proposed hasalways been one of the classical theories in the study of International Direct Investmentand Multinational Company. Now, the author is trying to translate it into Chinese in orderto make it easier for more Chinese readers to gain a deep insight about it. Thus, it isimportant to make an accurate translation. But, many of the translation theories today areabout literary translation which can not be directly used in the translation of economicliterature Different from literary work, economic literature tends to be elaborate andconcrete in its expression by using so many compound sentences. There are also manynouns and noun phrases with complex structure being used as subject or object. All thesenouns and noun phrases are modified by one or more attributive clauses and sometimes theattributive clauses are modified by another one or two clause. Thus, how to make an accurate translation becomes a key part of this translation task. In order to inquire into thetranslation of economic literature, the author participated in the translation ofMultinational Enterprise and the Global Economy and wrote this translation report.According to Eugene Nida’s,a famous American theorist on translation,FunctionalEquivalence Theory and the Hypotaxis and Parataxis Theory, the author is trying to dealwith the difficulties in translation with strategies such as division, combination and so on.Finally, the author makes great efforts to make an elaborate and concrete translation.However, in fact, the translation result tends to be straightforward and simple, thus itseems to be a little lengthy. So the author hopes to improve her ability in language usethrough loads of practice and exercise in the future.
