Benefited by developed economy, advanced culture and open policy, exchange with foreign countries obtained an unprecedented development in Tang Dynasty. Silla kept close contact with Tang dynasty for nearly three centuries, all sorts of Silla people went to the Tang Dynasty to serve as an envoy abroad, or for learning knowledge, for trading, and being official, etc. These Silla people who activated in all hierarchy of Tang dynasty made contribution to the exchanges between Tang dynasty and Silla.A particular group, the Silla maid-servant has caused common concerns in both Tang Dynasty and Silla. In ninth century ten or twenty, some Silla people went to Tang dynasty as slave and maid, this phenomenon occurred under certain background and reason, Xue Ping and Jang Bogo has played an important role in the process of resolving this issue which was also quite a struggle. In the first place, this paper briefly summarizes the identity and hierarchy that Silla people played in Tang Dynasty, and region these people distributed. The background and reason for Silla maid-servants’appearance is deeply analyzed in the next part. In the end, this paper will discuss the resolution and influence of this issue.This paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter one:introduction. This part mainly sets forth the purpose and significance of the topic of this paper, elaborates the research status and research method, as well as the innovation of this paper.Chapter two:general situation of Silla people in Tang Dynasty. The identity, hierarchy as well as distribution of Silla people in Tang Dynasty are summarized from two aspects:the official sent group and the nongovernmental group. Chapter three:the background and reason for the Silla maid-servants’ appearance. This chapter is divided into two sections:the first section sketches the maid-servant trade policy of Tang Dynasty and import condition of foreign maid-servant. The second section analyzes the reason for Silla maid-servant issue. Chapter four:the resolution of Silla maid-servant issue.
