This project consists of two parts. One part is the selected translation of the sixth chapter of A Forest of Voices:Reading and Writing the Environment. The other part is a translation report stating how the translator applies seven translation methods to ecological literature translation under the guidance of semantic translation and communicative translation purposed by Peter Newmark.A Forest of Voices is an ecological anthology, which extracts various articles themed ecology from various excellent authors of various countries, areas, identities and colors to form a book of various viewpoints and voices. The selected text is composed of three articles from Chapter6"Created World" of this book——"The Silent Neighborhood,""O Rotten Gotham" and "My Neighborhood." All the three articles describe the "Created World" the authors observed from three perspectives to convey an open and inclusive ecological ideas.The report is divided into four parts. The first section includes the introduction of the book, the authors and so on. The second section explains the reason why choose semantic translation and communicative translation as guidance and the significance of the project. The third section is the instance analysis of the seven translation methods applied to the translation. The fourth section is the summary of the experience of research.
