The verb overlap is an important means of morphological changes of Chinese verb, the grammar itself is extremely complex, no matter the form or the function, it has always been a difficulty part of students’Chinese learning. Because the majority of students haven’t mastered this grammar enough, they have made a lot of errors in using. In order to help students acquire the Chinese verb overlap better, and to promoting the teaching level at the same time, the study on students’ acquisition of the Chinese verb overlap is required. The thesis was done on a lot of research:Firstly, it analyzed the syntax, semantics and pragmatics characteristics of the Chinese verb overlap based on the using of native speakers in Modern Chinese Corpus; Secondly, it investigated the acquisition of foreign students’usage of the verb overlap on the basis of the contrast between foreign students and native speakers; Thirdly, the Error Analysis Theory and the Interlanguage Theory were used to identify the types and causes of students’errors; Lastly, two analysis method were applied to explore the acquisition order of various forms of the verb overlapping, one is "the Implicational Scaling", and another is "the correct use of relative frequency", and some relevant recommendations of the syllabus, textbooks, and teachers of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language were made on the basis of analysis above.
