As people’s understanding and views about money, money attitude has become an important variable that influence people’s daily life. University period is the important stage of individual development, students’ attitude towards money represents contemporary youth values. This study uses the metaphor method to study and to explore its relationship with subjective well-being, to deepen the understanding of metaphor, to richen the understanding about the nature of money attitude, and to further promote the study of the theory of the relationship of the money psychology and the college students’ subjective well-being. At the same time, this study can effectively guide the contemporary college students’ money values and understanding of happiness, so as to improve and enhance their quality of life.Based on available documents and open type questionnaire, this study compiled the questionnaire The College Students’ Metaphorical Representation of Money, coupled with "life satisfaction scale" and "emotional balance scale" to measure 793 college students that come from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Sichuan Normal University, Sichuan University and Xihua University. SPSS Statistics 19.0 and Amos17.0 were used to statistic and analysis for data. Summarize the results of the research, we have the following conclusions:1. The questionnaire The College Students’ Metaphorical Representation of Money has six factors: "achievement-effect", "constraint-anxiety", "danger-sin", "change", "desire" and "tool", a total of 42 items. This questionnaire has good reliability and validity, meeting the demands of psychometrics, and can be used as a tool to measure college students’ money metaphor.2. College students have more positive attitude to money in general. College students’ metaphorical representation of money has remarkable difference in school. College students of different grades have significant difference in danger-evil and desire dimensions. In terms of the region, rural students’ score on desire factor was significantly lower than urban students. In different ways of family upbringing, college students’ metaphorical representation types of money have significant differences in achievement-effect, change, desire and tool. College students that in poor or general family significantly scored higher than them in rich family situation. Gender, whether single, professional and character have no significant influence on metaphorical representation types of money.3. The overall level of college students’ subjective well-being is higher, they experience more positive emotion and negative emotion at the same time, and negative emotion experience rather than positive emotion. College students’ life satisfaction and negative emotion play a significant role in school and family upbringing. Life satisfaction and positive emotion exist significant grade differences. College students who are extroverts scores on each index of subjective well-being were significantly higher than that of introverts. In terms of the region, urban students’ scores on the subjective well-being are significantly higher than rural students. Also, have better family economic condition, college students will experience a higher subjective well-being.4. The related research that metaphorical representation of money and subjective well-being found that achievement-effect has significant negative correlation with life satisfaction; Tool and life satisfaction have significant negative correlation; Constraints-anxiety and negative emotion are significantly positive correlation; Danger-sin and negative emotion are significantly positive correlation; Tool and negative emotion are significantly negative correlation.5. The regression analysis found that achievement-effect and tool have a significant regression effect on life satisfaction; Constraints-anxiety and tool have a significant regression effect on positive emotion; Constraints-anxiety has a significant regression effect on negative emotion. It shows that they have corresponding prediction effect to a certain extent.
