Along with the growing construction of modernization of urban public transportation, buses have become an essential means of transportation in cities. With advantages such as great mobility, wide coverage and all-day repeated spreading, urban buses have become a kind of communications media for advertisements. Diversified forms of media facilitate the rapid development of advertisements and advertising information is overwhelmed. Bus advertisements in Wuhan City have played an active role in leading fashion, and promoting the construction of urban economy and urban civilization. There are a lot of excellent cases of bus advertisements in Wuhan City in terms of expressive forms and design forms. However, deficiencies also exist. For example, there is lack of originality in the digitalized design of the bus advertisements with design forms restricted by traditions; some of the designs of bus advertisements are not well integrated with media features; electronic media technology is not fully utilized in the design of bus advertisements to realize effective visual display; there are disharmonies between the design of bus advertisements and the culture and environment of Wuhan City; and even it is common that the resources in and out of the buses are not fully and effectively utilized to realize interaction with the audience through internet.The paper mainly focuses on the design forms of the bus advertisement, combines domestic and foreign literation on studies of bus advertisements and excellent design cases, to analyze the categories and design features of the expressive forms of bus advertisements in Wuhan City. Based on the visit, experience and investigation for the present situation of bus advertisements in Wuhan city, the author emphasizes the digitalized design requirements for bus advertisements in Wuhan City, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages in the development of bus advertisements in Wuhan City and offer reasonable suggestion; in the end, the author takes No. 402 Tourist Bus as an example emphasizes that, in the design of bus advertisements in Wuhan City, all kinds of expressive forms of the media in and out of the buses should be utilizes, with regional resources as contents or environments or culture as elements to apply any design form that complies with the media features to construct the interaction with the target audience and creatively promote products or brands and serve for the economic and cultural construction of Wuhan City.
