A Practice Report Of The Interpreting On The Youth Leadership Conference Opened By ABC Henan Branch And HBSC Zhengzhou Branch

This practice report is based on the Chinese-English interpretation of a conference held jointly by Henan Branch of Agricultural Bank of China( abbreviated as ABC) and Zhengzhou Branch of Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation(abbreviated as HSBC) in Nov 2014.The conference was attended by two banks’ excellent youth leaders, and the interpreter’s task was to interpret the speech of Mr Yang, the president of Longteng Square Branch of ABC.This report is composed of five parts—task description, process description, preparations before translation, case analysis and practice summary, among which case analysis is the core part. The first two parts are a generalization of the nature and particulars of this translating.The third part---- preparations before translation describes the preparations made by the author in three stages. In chapter four--case analyses, the discussion is made on how to make sure the ideas are delivered by using interpreting skills such as the Sense Group Division,Reorganization and Information Equivalence. The improper interpretation is also included in this chapter such as Misinterpretation and Omission.In the conclusion part, the writer has briefly summarized the interpreting practice along with personal reflection of this practice report.
