The teaching method is a part of the whole teaching system and it is interactive to teaching aim and teaching contents. VIDesigning is an important basic course in the graphic designing so that in the pursuit of the maximum of teaching efficiency teaching methods are more important. At present, the comparatively traditional teaching methods have prevented the positive development of VI Designing teaching and they are not useful to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive qualities and vocational capacities.Under the newly vocational education, how to cultivate some intellectuals who have not only certain basic abilities but also master the procedures and materials of VI Designing is the primary task in the graphic-designing-major teaching. In order to make the teaching of VI Designing adjust the needs of students’ employment and their persistent development, the writer made an exploration into the teaching methods of "VI" Designing Program Course in Higher Vocational Education on the basis of related concepts and traits VI Designing Program Course through plentiful reading references. And according to the teaching objective of the graphic designing in the higher vocational education, it is analyzed the disadvantages of traditional teaching methods and elaborated the reasons of introducing program teaching methods and the specific application of their teaching practice. It is concluded in the thesis that program-teaching methods make a positive and effective effect on the cultivation of students’ comprehensive qualities and vocational capacities. During the process of exploration, the writer made a -month-teaching practice in the first-year college students of graphic designing major by the means of comparison class and experimental class from the different angles of students’ learning and teacher’s teaching. The comparison class is taught by traditional teaching pattern and the experimental class is instructed by the program teaching methods. According to the experiment and the result of final exam, it is found that the program teaching methods are more rational and scientific ones and they are helpful to cultivate students’ abilities in organization, creation, independent work and teamwork. The writer has made the teaching method more theoretical and scientific in order to guide the teaching in future.The thesis is divided into five parts. Introduction supplies the reason, background and application of the topic. The first chapter discusses the concepts and theories of the program teaching methods. The second chapter describes the specific practice of the program teaching methods. The third chapter introduces the prospect, the application value and some advice of using the teaching methods. The fourth chapter concludes the whole thesis.
