The Analysis Of Foreign Accent And Teaching Countermeasures To Thai Undergraduates

This is a study on the analysis of foreign accent and teaching countermeasures to Thaiundergraduates. Thailand as a vigorous development country of teaching Chinese, tookfull effect in the spreading Chinese language, therefore, the study on the Thai students`problems in the process of learning has more significance. Phonetics teaching is the firststep in teaching Chinese as a second language. And our teachers should help theThai students build up a solid foundation, so that we can make sure the other teachings inChinese language. This paper based on the author’s teaching practice as a volunteerChinese teacher in Thailand, and under the instruction of the contrastive analysis theory,we worked out some teaching countermeasures. Hope that through this study, it canpromote the further development of the teaching Chinese in ThailandThis paper totally included four parts：Chapter one is the introduction. In the introduction the author stated the significanceof this topic, reviewed the history of teaching Chinese in Thailand. And also summarizedthe theoretical basis and content of this study. Chapter two is the analysis of foreign accent.The author based on the teaching practice in Thailand, analyzed the foreign accent of Thaiundergraduates in the process of learning Chinese. The foreign accent error is reflected onthe initials, finals, tones, pronunciation variations and intonations of Chinese. Chapterthree focused on the cause analysis of foreign accent. The causes included three parts.First, the factors of the learners themselves. And the influence of the Chinese phoneticsystem. The last one is the limitations of the teaching practice. Chapter four talked aboutthe teaching countermeasures. It expounded the basic principles of phonetic teaching toforeigners and made corresponding teaching countermeasures according to the foreignaccent errors to Thai undergraduates.
