A Translation Report On The Project Of Local Work Instruction

With the deepening reformation of Chinese economic to the outside world, China’s cooperation with countries all over the world keeps increasing. Foreign enterprises and joint venture enterprises occupy more and more proportions in the domestic market. Translation of foreign documents becomes an indispensable important bridge in the process of enterprise operation.This is a translation practice report. The translation project is Local Work Instruction from Emerson Process Management Flow Technologies(hereinafter referred to as Emerson) in English version. Under the guidance of the Functional translation theory, the report aims to analyze language characteristics, translation strategies of such kind of documents, from the perspectives of lexicon and syntax.The program text, with specific patterns and complete points, has research values both in theory and practice. From the perspective of theory, through translation and analysis of the foreign enterprise internal daily management documents, the author can better understand the guiding rules of the Functional translation theory in text translation. From the perspective of practice, the translation has practical values for internal construction and daily management of Emerson. From the author’s own point of view, translation problems in the process of translation and the processing ways have deepen the cognition and understanding of the translation theory, thus to a certain degree linking the theory with practice and applied to practice.
