This interpreting report is concerned with the subtitles interpreting program of the135 th episode Leisure Life in Chengdu of 30°N, Across China. The theme of this program is “Nature Homeland Culture” which is to demonstrate the miraculous natural scenery, history, culture, customs and social development of cities in China along 30°N to the world.The simulated C-E interpreting report covers source language input, sight interpretation, transcription, modification and composition of Leisure Life in Chengdu.This program belongs to information text and vocative text with the characteristics of requirements of subtitle composition, instantaneity of language, and diversity of topics.The analysis of interpreting skills in the stage of sight interpreting and transcription as a focal point of this report. The author adopts six interpretation skills to solve those problems under the guidance of Newmark’s Communicative Translation Theory which stresses to produce on its readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original. Syntactic linearity, adjustment, proper waiting and anticipating can be adopted at the stage of sight interpreting, information restructuring,simplification and information equivalence can be adopted in the stage of transcription.However, the author adopts six translation skills together according to different language environment.Under the guidance of Newmark’s Communicative Translation Theory, the author proves the feasible application of those interpreting skills which improve the quality of this simulated simultaneous interpretation after certain conscious practice. The experience draws from this research is expected to shed light on understanding of language feature of TV programs subtitles and simultaneous interpretation in similar contexts.
