Objective:To explore the structure of the adolescent students social self-supporting, prepare "adolescent students social autonomy questionnaire" suited to the characteristics of the adolescent students in China, and reveal the characteristics of the contemporary Chinese adolescent students social self-supporting development on this basis.Methods:Based on the literature review, interview, and previous studies, this study proposed a model of adolescent students social self-supporting。The formal questionnaire of adolescent students social self-supporting was compiled through 242 students, parents and teachers’ open questionnaires and interviews, as well as exploratory factor analysis of 368 forecast questionnaires。The model was validated and modified again and again through the confirmatory factor analysis of formal questionnaires of 1342 people. Finally the reasonable adolescent students social self-supporting structure model was obtained.Results:1、Five factors identified for adolescent students social self-supporting after factor analysis was moral character, the responsibility, the responsibility will, interpersonal relationship, and cooperation ability.2% Adolescent students social self-supporting questionnaire with good reliability and validity and according with the requirement of psycho-metrics, can be used as a measuring tool for adolescent students social self-supporting.3、Adolescent students social self-supporting had significant difference in school type. Key middle school students’ social self-supporting was significantly higher than that of ordinary middle school.4、 Adolescent students social self-supporting had significant difference in whether the student was a boarder or not. The extern social self-supporting was significantly higher than that of the boarder.5、Adolescent students social self-supporting had significant difference in family source. The social self-supporting of urban students was significantly higher than that of students in the countryside.6、Adolescent students social self-supporting had significant difference in gender. The social self-supporting of the female was significantly higher than that of the male.7、 Adolescent students social self-supporting was not significantly on whether the student was the one-child or not.8、Adolescent students social self-supporting had significant difference in grade. It’s significant from the 7th grade (top) to 8th grade (low).Social self-supporting level has a gradually increasing trend as the growth of the age.Social self-supporting level was gradually decreased from 7th grade,12th grade, 11th grade,10th grade,9th grade to 8th grade.Conclusion:1、Five dimensions of adolescent students social self-supporting are identified through factor analysis, respectively:moral character, the responsibility, the responsibility will, interpersonal relationship, cooperation ability.2、The questionnaire has good reliability and validity.3、There exist certain differences in grade, gender, family location, whether the one-child, school type, and different resident for adolescent students social self-supporting.
