Seton, a world famous painter, writer, naturalist, environmentalist and one of the founders of the boy scouts culture. He created the realistic animal novels. He had lived in Canada for a long time to observe the daily life of the animals deeply. Later, by using these materials, he created many wonderful animal stories with the illustrations made by himself. His stories are faithful to the animal’s physiological characteristics and living habits. By the real and delicate description, he vividly showed the readers the real natural scene. Ernest Thompson Seton shows Seton’s whole life in different aspects to the readers.This translation report is based on the translation practice on Ernest Thompson Seton. It is a brief biography of Seton, the Canadian artist and writer. The author summarized and analyzed the translation practice, then finished this report. The report, according to the translation process, mainly discussed the content of the translation task, the preparation work of the translation, the translation skills used in this translation and the gains for the author. The report consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction to the translation task; Chapter 2 briefly introduces the preparation work of the translation, the translation process and relevant translation theory; Chapter 3 discusses some translation skills by exemplification; and Chapter 4 serves as a summary of this translation practice.
