A Report On The C-E Translation Of Introductions Of Heavy Industry Companies

With the development of economic globalization, more and more Chinese heavy industries are making efforts to expand the international markets. Once a company is determined to go abroad, it must be made known to the foreign customers. Thus the C-E translation of Chinese company introductions is of great importance. However, so far, the C-E translation of introductions of most Chinese heavy industry companies have been kept at the literal translation level, and they haven’t taken the target language readers’acceptance and the purpose of the C-E translation of company introductions into full consideration.For this reason, based on the author’s practice in a translation project in Changsha ZhongYuan Heavy Industry Machinery Co.,LTD, and combined with the author’s exploration and research of the translation of other heavy industry company’s introductions, the report has introduced the background, requirements, and process of this translation project in detail, analyzed the difficulties and errors in the translation process and it has also pointed out that the C-E translation of introductions of Chinese heavy industries should follow the Skopos Theory and take the reader’s expectation and acceptance into full consideration. Additionally, the report has summarized the enlightenment, stemming from this translating project, to do a favor for the C-E translation of company introductions, especially the C-E translation of introductions of heavy industry companies.
