A Report On English-Chinese Translation Of Economical News

This is a project report on English-Chinese translation, mainly taking the English economic news as the study object in newspapers and magazines, such as the Economist, the Financial Post, the Forbes, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal. The English economic news combines the commonness of news and the individuality of economy, therefore the translator should not only pay attention to the timeliness of news, but also should attach more emphasis to the professionalism of the economy in the process of translation. Ignoring either one will reduce the quality of the translation.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory, with the reference of parallel texts, this translation project briefly analyzes the features of English economic news from two aspects:vocabulary and sentence, and tentatively puts forward several methods of English-Chinese economic news translation, for example, the method of extending word meaning, the method of data sorting, the method of adjusting word order and so on.
