This paper will use the comparative method in historical linguistics to compare Middle Chinese phonology with pronunciations of Japanese Kanji. In the same time, the paper will compare pronunciations of Japanese Kanji with modern Chinese. The purpose of these comparisons are to observe the correspond relation and evolution rule in history between Middle Chinese and Japanese Kanji pronunciations, to seek the relationship between the modern Chinese and pronunciations of Japanese Kanji. And then, using all the relations to explain the rules and reasons of differences between the Chinese phonology and Japanese Kanji pronunciations. Proceeding to next step is to understand and analyze the Chinese pronunciation error of Japanese learners with these relations. After that, putting forward some targeted teaching strategies is proposed to guide the teaching and improve the learning efficiency.This thesis consists six parts altogether. The first part is introduction, the research status as well as the research methods and research material. The second part is respective discretion and comparison the modern Chines and Japanese phonetic system. In part three, depict the phonetic system of Middle Chinese. The forth part is comparing the pronunciations of Japanese Kanji and Middle Chinese phonetic and obtaining the correspond relation and evolution rule between both of them. In part five will employ the relations in analyzing of the pronunciation error and then come up with some targeted teaching strategies. The sixth part is conclusion part.
