The Chinese Modal Particles play an important role in the modal category. They express the perceptions and attitudes of the speaker to an action or event. There are a large number of Modal Particles in modern Chinese, their meaning are very kaleidoscopic and their usage are also very complex. In addition, the classification of Modal Particles is still not very clear at present, there is still no consensus to the concept and function of some Chinese Modal Particles. So it is one of the most difficult points for Chinese teachers to teach. At the same time, there are many differences between the Chinese and Japanese Modal Particles and the complexity of Modal expression, so it is also very difficult for Japanese students to learn how to use Chinese Modal Particles correctly. Therefore, starting with the comparative analysis between the Chinese and Japanese Modal Particles, such as "ba(吧)", this thesis attempt to explore the similarities and differences of Chinese and Japanese Modal Particles. And finally, based on the analysis of the results, pedagogical suggestions and measures were proposed, in order to provide some help for the teaching of Chinese Modal Particles.This thesis consists of the following four parts:The first part mainly introduces the background of the research, includes the Chinese and Japanese Modal Particles, research purpose and significance about the Chinese and Japanese Modal Particles. At the same time, makes a overview on the previous research of modal particles, then determines the research methods and the research task.The second part, using the comparative analysis method to make a comparative analysis of the Chinese modal particle "ba" and the corresponding expression of Japanese, analysis their similarities and differences in the syntactic distribution, modal meaning, pragmatic functions and so on.The third part, the teaching research of Chinese modal particle. According to the previous research findings, put forward the teaching principle of Chinese modal particle "ba" and design a specific plan on how to teach Chinese Modal Participles "ba" to Japanese students.The fourth part is a conclusion. Make a summary of the research and points out the deficiency and the direction for the further research.
