Project Report On Consecutive Interpreting For The Myanmar National Promotion Conference At The 11^th China-ASEAN Expo

China-ASEAN Expo has made great contributions to promote the trade and economic cooperation, cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN countries. Myanmar National Promotion Conference at the 11th China-ASEAN Expo provided a good platform for Myanmar to attract foreign investment both from China and other countries.The author participated in the consecutive interpreting work of this conference. It’s a representative interpreting practice in a high level occasion. The author made comprehensive record, analysis and summary of the task in this report.The report is consisted of four chapters. In the first chapter, the author introduced the interpreting task, the reasons and purposes of writing this report. In the second chapter, the author introduced the pre-interpreting preparation she had made before the conference in detail-preparation before getting conference documents, preparation after getting conference documents and on-the-spot preparation. As for the third chapter, the author chose some representative cases and classified them into Chinese to English interpreting and English to Chinese interpreting. The main problems of the cases were bounds of Chinese as the source language, challenges of interpreting unfamiliar terminologies, difficulties in listening and reproduction. In the fourth chapter, the author made a self-evaluation and conclusion of important aspects of doing good interpreting.
