Practice Report Of Escort Interpreting

As a report on escort interpreting, this dissertation describes one escort interpreting task conducted by the author for the adoption with foreign elements in September 2014. This report analyzes the speech happened at the Adoption Registration Office of Civil Affairs Department of Hebei Province and Notary Office of Hebei Province, and it discusses challenges Finish English brings to interpreter as well as coping strategies and solutions.During the task description process, the report focuses on “pre-interpreting preparation” and describes the author’s preparation in detail.In the Case Studies, the report first describes the theory and then a series of typical cases are selected to be analyzed from five perspectives: Strategy of simplification, Skopos theory, Challenges the Finish English brings to interpreter, functional equivalence and Coping with difficult vocabulary.Through the task description and case analysis, it is found that the pre-interpreting preparation plays a vital role in the interpreting work and the interpreters must reflect their work.
