From March,2014 to October,2014, the author of this paper, with the recommendation and under the guide of Professor Judy, took part in a large number of Chinese-English liaison interpreting activities during foreign cultural groups’ visits to the Guangxi Normal University. Liaison interpreting activities spanned a long time with wide scopes, different objects and diversified fields. Hence, the interpreting cases varied a lot, ranging from liaison interpreting in banquet to that in conference, sightseeing and others. However, all these activities shared a common part-the food and drinks translation and culture translation related. Thus this paper will conduct elaborate analyses on liaison interpreting activities from the food, drinks and culture perspectives. Two representative cases will be discussed in detail, namely, interpreting for business reception and visit to Sanhua Co. Limited.This paper can be divided into four chapters. The way to set forth the paper will be in the following order:a general introduction, case analyses and a final summary. The first chapter, according to different activities, will focus on general descriptions on two interpreting tasks so that readers can hold a comprehensive understanding. In the second chapter, author will concentrate on presenting the preparation of interpreting tasks. The third chapter will focus on analyzing mistakes and improper points the interpreter made and met. And author will put forward some solutions about translation in line with the problems met in liaison interpreting for Chinese cuisine, and liquor. In the fourth chapter, the writer will share what she has learned from liaison interpreting activities and what should be paid attention next time.
