China attaches great importance to the introduction of advanced technologies from overseas so as to develop its economy in recent years. Translation of foreign scientific publishing works is one of the best ways. Therefore, a variety of English scientific works have been translated into Chinese. The Graphic Design School, an English scientific work, is written by world-famous specialists on graphic design. It boasts many advanced design philosophies and plenty of successful design works. The author, with the help of her supervisor, acts as the Project Manager of the translation project Graphic Design School. The author is responsible for communicating with the press, allocating translation tasks to the team members and following-up, controlling time and quality, proofreading and typesetting, and also translating part of the book. During this process, the author has learnt much management skills as well as communicative skills of translation projects. Meanwhile, the author has gained experience of translation and improved translation skills.This report is written based on the internship of the author from the perspective of a Project Manager. Firstly, the report introduces the preparation including a feasibility study, schedule planning, technologies, resources and contingency plans, etc. Secondly, it explains project implementation and evaluation. Finally, it elaborates the problems and the thoughts during the project implementation. Meanwhile, it analyses some specific approaches to translation based on the Skopos Theory.
