Nowadays,the influence of China around the world is expanding.It is of great importance for interpreters to deliver the original meaning of Chinese culture-loaded words.In simultaneous interpretation,culture-loaded words often bring challenges and pressures to interpreters,as they must adopt appropriate interpretation strategies and respond flexibly to ensure high-quality interpretation output.Based on the interpretation of the Yu Minhong’s speech at the Fourth Youth Entrepreneurship Summit,the author discusses the interpretation strategies of culture-loaded words in simultaneous interpretation from the perspective of Skopos Theory to provide more interpretation students with the reference of interpretation strategies and enrich the corpus of culture-loaded words interpretation.This essay first introduces the three principles of Skopos Theory,culture-loaded words and the background of the case.Then summarizes culture-loaded words during simultaneous interpretation and propose relevant strategies,namely,literal translation,including literal translation of homophone-synonymous Sino-Korean words and literal translation plus explanation;free translation,including changing vehicles and using similar expressions in Korean;abstract interpreting,including selective omission and generalization;additional interpretation.This essay provides more examples for the interpretation of culture-loaded words from Chinese to Korean.And the interpretation strategies derived from the perspective of Skopos Theory help interpreters find the communicative orientation and provide some help for learners who encounter similar problems.
