Essentially, the new generation of migrant workers is a special group with double identities as "urban people" and "rural people". They are not only "transitions" of peasants into workers, but also "intermediaries" between villagers and citizens. Meanwhile, they are "marginal people" who can hardly be recognized by the first-generation migrant workers or accepted by urban residents. It is just because of such special transitional period and embarrassing situation that value conflicts occur among the new generation of migrant workers. This paper focuses on value conflicts among the new generation of migrant workers and causes of the value conflicts, in an attempt to solve these conflicts. Theoretically, the value conflicts are characterized by perceived value, sentimental value and behavior tendency among the new generation of migrant workers in the transitional period. To be exact, there are conflicts between realities and ideals, materials and spirits, short term and long term, individuals and society. Then, what on earth are causes of their value conflicts? Subsequently, causes of the value conflicts among the new generation of migrant workers will be analyzed from the perspective of social development, social systems, subjects (namely the new generation of migrant workers) and education. These migrant workers have value conflicts due to various factors in the process of social development, various unfair social systems, personal weaknesses and neglect of some aspects in education and so on. Value conflicts bring positive and negative effects to the society. It is just because of their negative effects that it is hard to find solutions to the value conflicts among the new generation of migrant workers since their value-related activities are so independent, optional, changeable and diversified. Therefore, the values education for the new generation of migrant workers is explored, in an attempt to find a solution recognized by the social mainstream value to the value conflicts of these migrant workers.
